eBay rant -- Updated

How the hell can eBay remove a listing after the auction has closed? I got an email from eBay and PayPal telling me an auction I bid on was removed and I am under no obligation to buy the item. Well guess what, the auction ended yesterday and I already paid for it through PP. Are the people there complete idiots? Don't answer that, I know they are.

I can't post a link to the auction because it was removed by those idiots.

I had it happen in June, I bid on a Russian paper money item, looked like seller was in the USA. Auction closes, I pay for it, then the next day I get an email that the account had apparently been hijacked from...

    ...China - big surprise.

I had to wait a couple of weeks, but I got my $17 back.

Funny, because I also paid $17 for the item. I sent the seller an email asking if she was still going to send the coin.

I just got an email from the seller and she said she mailed the coin out today. So hopefully I'll get it. The coin is a Canada 1910 50c ICCS VG-10.

The seller said eBay ended the listing because it had 'Certified' in the title. But why end the auction AFTER it closed? Crazy.

Same thing happened to me recently. I emailed the seller and he said he will send the coin. It's only $6 so I'm really not sweating it either way.

Happened to me also a while ago. When the auction is over they should not delete it entirely from the website.
I paid for the auction with paypal -the next day ebay naru's the seller and the auction is totally deleted from the ebay website. This is a wrong move by ebay especially when they know you have paid with paypal...I got lucky--paypal got my money back from the seller. But this takes time and it should not take any time at all in a case where they shut down the auction.
Then i got even luckier--The seller sent me the coins and i got them the day after i got my refund.A really weird situation--I then repaid for the coins. The seller has since been re-instated to ebay. I got a great deal on the coins so i was pleased.
Ebay has every right to shut down auctions for whatever reason they want but they should not delete the auctions from the website until a certain amount of time has passed. Shut down the auctions-yes--But delete them totally from the website-NO..... JMO. Bob
