Hello All:
I happen to notice that all of a sudden PCGS is reporting three (3) 1972 Type 2 Ikes in MS69!! The top pop prior to this was MS66, of which the top population is 5.
I assume this is a big mistake? I just spoke with James Sego and he believes it is a mistake and there is no way this coin would ever be made in MS69.

<< <i>Probably a Proof Coin got entered as Mint State

Or possibly a Business Strike Silver got entered as its clad counterpart!
No way in Hades that ANY Copper Nickel Clad IKE would grade MS69!
The name is LEE!
Has anybody made any other contact with PCGS?
I just find this extremely difficult to believe given the fact that 0 MS68 coins exist or else Mr. Sego would probably have owned them!
The name is LEE!
That would drive the value down on the MS66 coins and maybe I could pick one up cheap
Blue Leader #1 to Blue Leader #2,,,,, do you copy????? (an inside joke to a fellow IKE guy)
GrandAm
Man, stuff like this gets your heart beating!

This is Blue 2, out.
That would drive the value down on the MS66 coins and maybe I could pick one up cheap. Remind me when we're back at HQ to take you out back in the swamp to talk about this...

Hmmm.
Could I have been mistaken in my MS69 comment or has PCGS really graded a 1978 Eisenhower dollar at MS70 ?
