How tough a signature is Ichiro Suzuki to get?

I know he doesn't sign TTM, and doesn't appear to do shows as SigningsHotline only has him with one signing over a several year period, but does he sign at the ballpark? If so, is he relatively tough or easy at the park. I need him for my signed rookie collection but just wondering if it might not be worth the trouble of buying a raw card and attempting to get it signed, or if I should just bite the bullet and pay for an already signed one.

Mill Creek Sports in Washington is the only source for his auto. He should be able to sign your card through them.
  • Yeah I have never seen him sign and I was thinking that he would be difficult to get him to sign personally. However I suggest either buying one off eBay already signed or learn the Japanese phrase "May I have your autograph please".

I've already contacted Mill Creek tonight to inquire, haven't heard from them yet. Thanks for the info though.

  • Don't know, but that would be a cool auto to have.

Just the opinion of someone who doesn't collect autos but goes to a number of Mariner games:

Ichiro is a very tough signature to get. As far as I'm aware, he doesn't sign at games, except for maybe the odd spring training game. I think he's far too involved in game preparation to sign. I also don't think he signs that much stuff either, but you can get signed items through "official" sources (like the Mariner team stores, Mill Creek if they do it), but be prepared to pay a LOT for them. My suggestion is that if you need a specific card signed and can find it already autographed, just buy that one. More than likely you'll really pay for it, but it probably isn't worth the hassle otherwise.

  • If it was me, I would just go out and get an Upper Deck certified auto. That way you know for sure it's the real deal, and there is no run around involved, because it's been reported that he's a tough sig to obtain in person. He has some very nice "on card" autographs from Upper Deck.

I agree. He does to private signings through Mill Creek now, but I don't know if they accept submitted items and can only imagine what they'd charge for one. I'd suggest getting an SPX autographed rookie card (don't buy one with a patch, as it's an altered card) if you don't want to spend too much.

I made good money off of it at the time, but I kinda wish I had my Ultimate Collection signed rookie back now. image
