August 16, 1896 : Fishing for salmon, prospector finds gold!

On this day in 1896, fisherman George Carmack struck gold in the Klondike River of the Yukon. As a long day of searching the river for gold came to a close, he noticed a large nugget of gold along the river bank, thus launching the last major gold rush.

    cool...also study who were made millionaires............

    the suppliers to the demand of thousands to get to the Yukon

    they needed transportation, tools and equipment

    these industries were the ones who struck it rich!
