What coin & banknote inventory software do you use?
I am seriously thinking about importing this one all the way from Canada some time in the next 6 months or so; Currency Vault,as you can use the same program for your banknotes as well.It would also be great for my postal orders & my traders' currency tokens, that is,if its customisability is easy to do.
If anyone here has used Currency Vault to do an inventory of their collection, please do let us know.
Aidan.

Currency Vault looks pretty good, you should definitely download their free demo and see for yourself.
Coin Manage is also well regarded around here and has a demo as well.
Though if you look at my tagline you'll see how I really feel about collection software...
If you do a forum search you'll find several other threads on this subject.

I also made a chart of what I need, for current design US coins. Ones I do not have are in black, ones I have but need a better version are in blue. I have also written out the mintmark locations there because I printed out sheets for my mom and brother to look for stuff.
I also made a chart of the different US designs and have that broken out into what I have and what I need. I listed there each design and the years it was produced.
In my indivigual denomination sheet, I list the item (year and mint mark, if applicable), and if I know, I list when I got it, and I also have a loose list of duplicates which I had intents of keeping updated but didn't. I can fix it pretty easy though. I am debating listing who/where I got it from as well. If I know the date I can probably remember where I got it as well. Much of my collection was pulled out of the change jar and I have not gotten all that much new since then, which is par for the cource when you are poor, LOL.

I like soft leads.
German Empire, 1186 coins possible, 280 needed for completion= .7639 percent complete.
Weimar Republic, 489 coins possible, 225 needed for completion= .5399 percent complete.
Third Reich, 398 coins possible , 88 coins needed for completion = .7789 percent complete.
I list all pertinent information, grade, amount paid or approx value if still needed in for my collection. Those I have, are listed in BOLD BLACK while those I need are listed in BOLD RED. The list didn't cost me a dime except for my time and effort. The thing I like about this the most is that each coin I add to my collection I get to add twice! Once as I put it into my collection and then again as I add it to the spread sheet and watch the numbers and colors change.
Simple mind, simple pleasures, but I like it alot!!!

Joe,
I am always extremely suspicious of the quality of the demos,as you often can't do much with them.I tried to use a Google spreadsheet program to do my coin inventory, but that proved to be a total waste of my time.
I'm just going to wait until I can afford to buy the Currency Vault,& buy the full program.
Aidan.
Would like to create something in excel but want photos of each coin included.
I'm collecting German coins too, have 100% of the standard issue 3rd reich coins (I think there are 361 of them). RickC, what do you include to make 398, the allied occ and military issues?
I'm also making a good dent (no pun intended) on coins 1 Mark and lower for the German Empire and Weimar Republic, am guessing I'd be getting up to around 30-50% in each. RickC, do you include 2, 3 and 5 mark coins in your % calculations? Kaiserreich Gold?

True they are typically limited in some respect but one very nice thing about them is you can
find out if you'll have problems with your hardware or OS version before you buy.

In order to not hijack this thread I am going to start another... But no, I do not include the states coinage in the Empire and also do not include Allied occupation or military issues in my Third Reich list. As far as I know my numbers are pretty accurate and would like to know where our different numbers come from...
Thanks and to both of you~!

Yes,you can use the same program for your banknote & coin inventories,& upload your own photos.
The program is available in 5 languages, including both English & Italian.
