I am not very good at the language but I think it says:
Inaugaration (opening?) of Del Mercado Central 28 July 1905.
Edit: Opps....Boz answered while I was trying to type

It says "Opening of the Central Market, July 28, 1905." Around the edge it's "H. Provincial Council of Lima." Not sure what the H. is for.

Very interesting. One wouldn't automatically associate a double-headed eagle with Peru, of all places.
Newsman beat me to the translation. Opening (inauguration) of the Central Market in Lima.
Cool piece. Silver, y'think?

BTW, you can't find it in Krause because it's a token, not a coin. That doesn't reduce its coolness in the least, though.

Yes it is silver about the size of a half dollar. Paid $20 for it - good price?

You should hold your head high at your fine purchase. They are nice eagles and great condition for the age.
