That seller has had some real beauties this past week. Including a PSA 10 Payton rookie. I have lost alot of his auctions bidding way above SMR too. So I feel your lost.
  • I'll have to toss it back into my neverending wanted list again...lol oh-well

From the scan the card looks like an easy 8. Obviously there is something wrong with it that you can't see in the scan, but it clearly presents a lot better than a 6 and I'm not shocked that it brought this price. I got my PSA 6 for $90 and this card looks at least 2 grades better.

Either there is a paper wrinkle on the back or they blew it. It will be sent in for a bump (hasn't been reviewed yet) and wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't try and spoon at a wrinkle and get an 8.

Question for you guys, if you send for a review do they always put it in a new holder with the new flips? At the National they did not.

Well over a year ago I bought a 1969 Topps Mantle from this seller in PSA 7. The scan of the card looked AMAZING in the auction. So I paid top dollar. When it arrived it was the same card I bought but needless to say it was not as AMAZING in person. I think they must have some nice photoshop filters they run their scans through.

Absolutely agree with artistlost -- bought a t206 card from them a year ago, it was the PSA card as pictured in the auction, but in the auction, the colors were just a little "richer" than in person. Good to know, and be aware of.

I bid on several prewarcardcollector HOF football cards this week.

    1960 Unitas

I got it for $10 under VCP and felt lucky. Many of his cards went for well above VCP. I'm too much of a bargain hunter to get in a bidding war and know graded HOF football cards will always be available. Just have to be patient.

Even with graded cards, the bigger and clearer the scan the more money you're going to get.
