  • That would be the perfect bat to use for Co-ed softball this fall. Think of all the homers I could hit!

Looks like Mr. Mitchell will still be making a nice profit since he paid $577,610 for the bat in 2001.

"I’m very excited about becoming the new owner of Shoeless Joe’s ‘Black Betsy’ bat. I plan to cherish this bat,” said Mitchell.

I guess his cherishing days are over for this bat!

It's been on the block 3 or 4 times over the course of the last year...I don't think it's sold one time.

I actualy wouldn't mind a card like that, I think that would be so neat!

Of course they shouldn't destroy history, but hey if they do I wouldn't mind a piece of it.

    Maybe it is GROSSLY overpriced.

Maybe it was more than "fully-priced" when Mitch bought it.

Maybe the 2001 underbidder would like to offer 10% of his previous bid.

Maybe it's a GREAT "museum piece," and a hopelessly worthless "collectors item."
