Matte Proof Lincoln's for the week of 8-13

I’M BACK!!! After multiple back to back trips including a late stop in Baltimore where I managed to shake hands with a few of you MPL Crazies and hold some incredible Mattes in my hands like that 1916 Liston example everyone’s has been drooling about. With the last round of big auctions over it appears a summer drop in coins available at market has occurred. Only 19 this week, down from 32 four weeks ago. The list will increase as the big fall auctions start up and new coins are consigned. I would check Heritage regularly for new additions.

The last auctions did prove that once again, the Matte market remains strong and prices just keep going up.

Till next week.

Not to nit-pick, but I noticed that Andy's 1912 is an NGC variant.

I wish Angeldees was "picture capable".

Ive bought from Andy before and have faith in him....but a picture is worth, how many words?

Time to step into the 21st century and update their web structure.

Thanks again for taking the time to put this list together and thanks to all who are able to provide updates.

I agree 100% with the comments about Andy at Angel Dees - it would be so nice to see a picture before you send off that check -

The 1912 that Aspen Park has for sale is a coin I used to own - it has some wonderful color, maybe a bit too much in today's environment...

Ive been in communication with the seller on the 1916 "matte" on ebay....and it seems he has not seen the diagnostic line above RIBUS, so Id be reluctant to pull the trigger on this, unless of course, you have an envelope ready to send it back.

Good luck to anyone who may be bidding, as usual RAW carries a risk.

He is aware of the diagnostics at least now, and probably if he dosent pull the listing is ready to have it sent back to him.

  • I sent him a pic today of the same diagnostic to see if it is on the coin in question, I have to say he has been good at communicating until now, I have not heard from him since I sent a pic of the diagnostic....
