Took my stepson to the College Football Hall of Fame Saturday, then Sunday attended Fan Appreciation Day at ND. Got my football fix, come on Sept. 6th. Let the games begin.

can take much more pain.
<< <i>Charlie Weiss coached at my high school when he was younger. He will not be at ND much longer. I don't think the fans and alumni
can take much more pain. >>
I'll be there for awhile.

Um not really, the distance is complimentary.
<< <i>I think ND will begin to turn things around this year, they seem to have a pretty decent freshman class coming in. >>
They pretty much always have an AMAZING freshman class under Weis. Too bad they haven't been able to do squat with it....
Recruiting class rankings in the Weis Era:
2006- 8th
2007- 8th
2008- 2nd
2009- Still in progress, but as of right now will easily be in the top 25.

Inside the stadium, looking out from the tunnel. It's not the Swamp or the Big House, but it must be amazing to look out and see 45,000 people and classmates screaming for you....
<< <i>They had a fan day and didn't allow pictures? What's their point? >>
They were fine during the autograph session, before or after practice, or inside the main stadium, just not during team practice. They probably have some deal with the Orlando Sentinel or somethin...
Now if we can only get these idiots out of the trees so we can build our new athletic center. . ... .

One of my good friends is Julio Jones' cousin so hopefully he'll put up some big numbers for you all this year.
EDIT: I knew about 3 days before everyone else that he'd commit to 'Bama. His cousin said that the family is such big Bama fans that if he would've gone anywhere else in the SEC, the family would still root AGAINST his team.
<< <i>well I think I FINALLY am getting some tickets to go to a Buckeye game at the Shoe this year. I've never been there except to see Pink Floyd in 1988. >>
Damn Goose, there is nothing like attending an autumn college football game, especially at a major stadium.

Was the pig flying over the shoe ?
Richard Jackson transfers to UCF

<< <i>He left the team last week. The honest answer is he wasn't going to play at ND. Unfortunately for him ND is loaded at his position and they got stronger with the freshman class. He wasn't even listed in the three deep before this class and now they have two of the finest receivers in the nation in the freshman class. I remember reading where he got into a couple of plays on special teams. This is not to say he isn't a good and talent young man. It was just a numbers game. >>
Sounds like a very smart move on his part. UCF isn't Notre Dame but it is a top tier Mid Major where he'll get a shot at playing in front of his family and position himself for a move to the NFL if he lives up to his potential. He's supposedly going to try and get a hardship waiver for this season so we'll see if he can suit up for this season or wait it out for next year. If I was him I'd probably wait. He's coming over a week before the season starts so this year might be pointless to waste eligibility on since he probably won't be ready to go 100% 'til week 3. Plus, WR isn't really a weak point for us this year. Out of our top 3 guys, 2 are sophomores that got a ton of minutes last year and the other's a senior who's been a big part of the "O" since his Sophomore year.
