Crossing Over?

It's not just a show with a TV psychic. It's the question that's on my mind!
(and since nobody reads the registry forum anymore, I'm posting it here, hehe)
A few of the Nolan Ryan cards in my collection are in Beckett holders. For the modern ones, I went that route as I felt Beckett's criteria would be stricter (I wanted to own slammin' examples of his 1987 Fleer and 1989 Donruss, call me crazy).
However, I have a 1969 and a 1970 in BVG holders... and now that I've added them to the Nolan Ryan Basic Topps set, I notice I'm 2 cards away from "completion" and eligible for a free grading. So, I'm thinking about crossing one of them over... maybe both... not sure... my membership lapsed, which means I'll probably only cross one of them over.
Anyway, of these two, which do y'all think has the best chance of crossing over in the same grade or better?
Also, is it best to send to PSA in slabs and have them crack in a situation like this, or should I risk the drill on the Beckett holders? They really are a PAIN to crack ya know.

Not sure about the other one, the 69 could bump.
Steve
agree with steve 69 will cross and might get the 6.5, 70 id say 5
cracking them out good luck with them slabs, last time i cracked some bvg about put my eye out BEASTS if i was to do it again
drummel or hacksaw not my typical butter knife pound-crack the corner and pry
With the 70, MAYBE a PSA 6 if you're luckey. The lower left corner looks kinda bad, so a PSA 5 looks like the right grade.
Basically, I think they'll cross into the same grade in PSA holders.
Unless you've got other cards to cross over in-holder, I'd say break them out and send them in with a few other cards during a monthly grading special.

I used a Dremmal tool to open up a BGS case a while back. I must have used the wrong cutter, because while it did cut the plastic, it also melted and re-sealed the darn thing!
