I have been getting so many hard to find cards lately

Whether it be from the generosity of board members or just browsing Ebay.I must be doing something right image

Very happy to find this one on Ebay. I get to cross off another toughy from my list.

The latest is this 1991 Pro Set UK Today card strip. These were freebies, handed out in the newspaper.

I don't think it is PSA gradeable due to size. I hope they start making giant slabs like BGS does so I can put it in my set.

Congrats. I have never heard or seen these before. Are there more of these such as Q.B or W.R? Just curious if you know the story behind them.

I'm not too sure. I have only searched for Emmitt Smith in this set. There probably are, but this was the first time I have even seen the RB sheet in quite some time.

All I know is they were distributed free in the UK in 1991 image

    Oh yeah, thanks Paul image

    That's great Matt!

Did you know that Sammy Smith is Emmitt's illegitimate half brother? image

I'm working on something I've been chasing for 2 yrs!

    Will keep ya posted.

    Congratulations on your good fortune.

Matt, I think I have a few Emmitts stuck under my coffee table leg to stop it from wobbling. I'll take a look for you.

Neat item. I have never seen or heard of these before either.

From the Beckett big book... there were 5 sheets:

QB - Jim Everett, Warren Moon, Boomer Esiason, Troy Aikman, Dan Marino, & John Elway. BV $20.00

RB - (see above). BV $15.00

WR - Mark Duper, Jerry Rice, Al Toon, Sterling Sharpe, Keith Jackson, & Tim McGee. BV $10.00

K - Jim Breech, Scott Norwood, Mike Horan, Norm Johnson, Nick Lowery, & Sean Landeta. BV $4.00

D - Mike Singletary, Carl Banks, Deion Sanders, Howie Long, Isaac Holt, & Pat Swilling. BV $6.00

These were inserted into newspapers for 5 consecutive weeks in the fall of 1991 and the cards (including numbering) are the same as the regular 1991 Pro Set release.

    Thanks Mikeimage

Speaking of that poor guy Sammie Smith, an FSU grad, drafted by the Dolphins. We went down there expecting to be the next Walter Payton and alot of fans thought so too. When he ended up being just a great college player not too make it in the NFL, the fans went crazy on the guy. They were calling him Sammy Sh1t and Sammie Sucks. They made sure he heard them too.

People take things way too far sometimes.
