I am now #2 in the flying eagles!!

my "collector's" set just jumped to #2 with the purchase of an AU55 1857.


now to get my AU53 small lettered '58 crossed and to find a nice 8/7............

    Beautiful birdies, and a cool short set. Looks like fun to play on. Since I notice you have the big bird in your net, the road to completion should be relatively open for you. Hope you add a pic of that AU55. The best Flyer I've ever owned was an EF40 (ANACS). One day, after I complete 1900-present Modern Type and go on to the Big Set (Complete US Type), I want an MS62 bird for a type coin. It ain't gonna be an 1856, rest assured. I rather favor the 1858-LL. My first Flying Eagle cent (bought as an 11-year-old collector in 1977) was a VG 1858-LL. I saved my allowance for a week or two to scratch up the seven bucks that baby cost me! (Sorry, you've gotten me all nostalgic. *Snif*)

    thanks guys. Even though mine aren't necessarily the highest or best by any means I still like 'em!!

    I will get a pic of the '57 up as soon as it arrives. I couldn't wait to add the cert# to my set!!
