I know it’s early, but who is attending the CoinFest Show? Incredible dealer list, and a Stack’s au
I was taking a look at the CoinFest website. I know it is a bit early, but I feel as though I am the Mayor of CoinFest, because the show is located in my backyard. The dealer list (so far), is incredible, and it will even have an auction by Stack’s. Additionally, the mysterious CAC will be there, sprinkling holy water on selected coins, and raising their values by a minimum of 10%. What more can you ask for? It is my anniversary that weekend, so perhaps I will treat Mrs. Longacre to a tour of the bourse as part of the celebration. The show is November 7-9th. Who here is attending? Will RYK break his streak of not attending a show in 2008 and jet in for the event?

Very few forum members have met Longare in person. Perhaps I can convince my security team to let me roam freely among the masses at the show.

<< <i>Last year was terrific - I'm guessing this year will be better. >>
I completely agree...
This show just might be destined for the "Top 10" must-make major shows...
...well, ok... if not the Top 10 then certainly the Top 20
Somehow, I don't think we'll be seeing Longacre at this year's CoinFest!

I've been one of the "blessed" few who have had the opportunity to meet you...AND your "security" team...
They might be short...and darn cute to boot...but only good can come your way with them at your side!!!
You know, I would consider it but for the weekend before I am jetting into Washington, DC to watch the Steelers spank the Redskins. I do not believe that I will be able to swing two consecutive "jet ins" (without buying an expensive and unnecessary piece of furniture). Maybe next year.
If Longacre is going, though, an appearance at this show might just be necessary!
I loved getting stuck out in the rain.
It was my first big show.
So I will be there again!

You know Longacre's a legendary man-diva when he has a security team and refers to himself in third person...
Anyways, I hope to experience an encore of the aura of his presence at this coming Coinfest. I will be there either on Friday or Saturday.

All were A++++ Transactions- Thank you !
Oh, and even better-it's in driving distance of home so that'll work out nicely! I'm not exactly sure how to get to where it is but there's plenty of online maps for that
What do the numbers mean after the names?
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

Longacre, if you do go please let me know in advance. I figure you attendance at the show would push Tiffany's stock up at least 15% that next week...
<< <i>What do the numbers mean after the names? >>
Those refer to the bourse table numbers.
Looking forward to another great show. If you want to know who to thank for putting on this event -- it is Jon Lerner. There are 6,000 details that go into putting on a good show. Jon is on top of each and every one.
Thank you, Jon!

Try flights into Westchester County Airport and Hartford Airport.... these are regional airports with some great airfares
LGA and Kennedy are the big airports..... as well
<< <i>I see that PCGS has signed up to attend. >>
It's official - this show has hit the "Big Time" (and I am not kidding when I say that).

I thought Longacre's attendance pushed the show into "Big Time" status.

<< <i>November is reserved for Elk hunting. Maybe the Spring ANA in Portland. >>
We have lots of deer in Connecticut (too many, in fact, because I recently almost hit one this morning with my car). You are welcome to hunt on the Longacre property, and perhaps I can swing you some accomodations at the manor.

<< <i>Mr. L .......... What kind of weather should we expect the first week of Nov. ?
The weather is very unpredictable in CT. It can be has high as the mid-60's, or it can get pretty cold. Shoot for something in the 50's or so, give or take 5-10 degrees, and you should be safe. Early November in CT is still nice overall. Snow should not be an issue.

Last year's show was my first show as an independent, and it turned out to be a great show for people interested in my kind of material. I don't suspect I'll be missing this show anytime soon, especially considering the fact that it's an easy train ride from NYC.
Jonathanb -- I'll be at BayState/C4 the next week too! Never fear.
Longacre: if you're buying breakfast, I'd be happy to have a "professional preview" of my inventory before bourse hours
See you all there.
Betts medals, colonial coins, US Mint medals, foreign coins found in early America, and other numismatic Americana
for breakfast, please take advantage of the Breakfast Seminiar about Coin Security.... see things to do on the website.....
that is a awesome talk and hosted by one of the best!
Is CAC offering to do a "free" stickering promo again?
The breakfast seminar sounds cool.

Thanks for anwering my question!
I have a thought-how are we going to recognize other board members? I'm planning on wearing my model car club name tag-I wear it when I got to full size car shows, so why not a coin show too? I'm pretty hard to miss, too
I don't think anybody has posted a link yet...
