Help me decide

Thinking of buying one or the other
1957 Unitas Rookie PSA 7 with solid centering
or
1976 Topps Walter Payton Rookie PSA 9
Payton is a little over $100 more.
What would you go with and why.
2 of my favorite players ever. I already have a raw Unitas rookie that is anywhere from a 4 to a 4.5ish in condition.

Value and appeal is locked in.
<< <i>Johnny U!!!!!!!! Im a vintage guy so its an easy choice for me, Im not sure of the Pop reports but I dont think either card would be tough to find at a later date so if you get one and down the road want the other it should be somewhat easy to find. >>
Finding is not always the issue with me. I usually do not grab that high end of a card. So this is a big purchase for me.

STUPID ME.
I forgot, WP had passed, too.
I'd still go with JU, because of the "lore-value"

Understandable, well if your looking for a "conerstone" to your collection personally I would think long and hard if your satisfied with your lower grade JU and if your happy with it, both cards a very desirable in nice condition due to the madness of the NFL HOF Rookie set registry. Do you collect Vintage primarily or post 1970 stuff more? Again Im a Vintage guy so I lean towards the JU but if your heavy into the post 1970 stuff the Payton might be the way to go.

well I like certain players and sets.
Unitas is probably my favorite. Payton is not far behind.
Might be leaning towards Johnny U. Then I can sell the other one and recoop some cash
I think its finding one is easy, finding a centered one seems to be not so easy.
Just make sure you also add the great Payton RC to your collection at a later time.....lol

NFL HOF RC SET
So I was surprised I didn't have to think about this choice much at all... I would go with the Unitas, especially a well centered one since the 1957 Topps is not known for its great centering.
I think it was an easy choice for me because I always see PSA 9 Payton rookies and there is still quite a bit of unopened 1976 Topps wax that they can be pulled from. To me, it's more of a commodity card than Unitas.
Snorto~
Keep in mind there will always be high end Paytons available...
