grading question - resubmitting

what is your procedure for resubmitting a card for a bump or crossover? do you keep it in the slab and ask to keep at least the grade it's in or crack and resub?

i have a payton rookie that came back a 9 and i want them to review it but i don't want to take a backward bump if there's something i'm not seeing in the 9. make sense?

I crack everything out and start fresh. If you feel good about it getting bumped it is doubtful it would go down a grade. That being said I grade mostly vintage stuff.

Yeah honestly, I see no chance for a 10 with centering. The dot on back is insignificant though.
  • Is the line that extends across the front of the card, from about the hairline/forehead area from the scan, or is it actually on the card? My guess is it is the scan (since it seems to be a single pixel wide), but...

Good spot Sock, I think it's on the card. I have one with the same line.

Centering, somewhat ruff bottom edge, print mark(back), and what does look like a line running through the card, will keep this from getting a 10

But its a great card and it would be a great addition to anyone's collection!!!!

thanks guys. if i resubmit, i will keep it in the holder. will psa tell you the flaw(s) keeping it from the next grade?

...edit: i am not able to see the line on the forehead on the card itself.

    Thanks,

The only reason that I bring it up is because it does not seem to extend out to the holder itself.
It seems to be more evident in the blue sky on both sides. I actually noticed it in the yellow border first.

it is definitely there in the scan but i can't see it in the holder...maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me. image
