To top it off, that 41-D is the first non-War Jefferson prior to adding the initials in 1966. So right now, there is one pre-initials nickel, one post-initials nickel (don't forget the 2001-D in 68FS), and the three in the War years. Huge coin, and ought to bring major bucks by the time the bidding stops.

Congratulations. Looks like you are the new top Jeff dealer. I'll get it started publically by bidding $5,000 for the 41D in 68FS. My guess is I'm way low, but there it is.
Cheers
Greg
Bob: Greg usually has an uncanny pulse on proper pricing, so I'll bid $5,100. Am I close now? Wondercoin
Thanks for all your offers on both Jeffersons. Greg and Mitch also I thank both of you for your bids not close !!!! The 1954s ms 65 FS is sold, the 1941d ms 68 FS will go to ebay tonight.

I guess if I can yank your chain, I deserve to have mine yanked as well.
Seriously though, I am not sure that more than a handful of high end Jefferson collectors know that this is a $10,000+ (emphasis on the plus) coin. By putting in a real big money bid (and yes $5,000 is big to most collectors), it might help illustrate the true scarcity of some of these pieces.
After all, there are certainly those on this Board and otherwise who would never believe a Jefferson nickel in any grade could be worth more than a few hundred. Well, this proves there is at least one worth over $5,000 (since so far Bob hasn't sold it to me yet).
Cheers
Greg
