Is the Microsoft Live/Ebay cashback program over?

Haven't seen a discount in 3 days?

Anyone else been trying?

Comments

  • Looks like it just went through the process and did not get any indication of it.
  • Still not working as of Aug 4...I have contacted both MS and eBay. Both say the program is active until the end of August, but blame each other for why it isn't working.

  • I picked up a 1961 PSA 8 Clemente (a little overpriced before the discount) yesterday. In order to get the 25% via the LiveSearch to come up, you may have to hit the 'reload' a few times - I used the word "Wii".

Although eBay doesn't seem to actually have the little graphic indicating it's on, if you click on BIN, it should appear before you hit the confirm button.

    Linky

Click on the Lego Search within eBay in the gray box at the top left of the screen. It only applies to store items, but for cases, this is great!

You will need to sign up either before or after you make your purchase. The purchase will show up in your Microsoft account within a day or two. After 60 days, the money will be sent to a specified account or address...typically your PayPal account.

    Good luck!!

Has anyone rec'd the money yet?
  • I believe that the MS live cashback program with eBay started around June 15. That means the earliest cashback credit to PayPal (or wherever designated) would occur on Aug 15, which occurs after the 60 day "pending" period is over. We should start hearing some feedback from those earlier purchases soon.

The MS/eBay cashback has been a rocky road to travel. There were many eBay software glitches between Aug 1 and 10, which essentially rendered the rebate unusable. The eBay server maintenance done over the past weekend has corrected these problem glitches and the cashback rebate began working about 4 am EDT Aug 11. I just used it early yesterday for two $975 purchases and the two $244 credits showed up in my MS cashback account with 24 hours. My understanding from chatting with Microsoft customer service is that the eBay cashback will run through the end of August...but after that who knows?

The MS cashback provides an excellent chance to pick up some nice baseball cards on eBay. The transaction must be a "buy-it-now" purchase to qualify for the rebate. Obviously, the "sweet spot" for a purchase is around $1000, since the 25% rebate is only good for a maximum of $250 per purchase and you are limited to three transactions per eBay account. If any forum members are interested in baseball cards from my inventory, I would be glad to put them up on eBay for a "buy-it-now" purchase. If someone is interested in several cards, I can put them all into the same lot on eBay and the purchase would only count as one transaction. Unlike many eBay stores, I have not inflated the price of my inventory to take advantage of the cashback...my prices remain unchanged.

My cards are PSA graded, mostly from 1958-1963. They are listed in my signature below. PM or Email if you are interested.

Anybody else picking up cards that they've always wanted with this discount? It's just enough for me to justify a few purchases that I wouldn't have normally made.

I picked up a perfectly center PSA 9 1984 Topps USFL Steve Young. I did not have a graded one and likely would have settled for an 8, but I sold a big meteorite and eBay has the discount thing, plus the Microsoft discount...I could not pass.

I am real happy with the card. It looks better then other 9's I have seen, and I think it looks better then the PSA 10 that has been offered a few times the last six months on eBay.

I didn't use the discount as well as I could have as I didn't know about the three time thing.

While reading Warrencenter's post he said that one could purchase 3 $1000 cards and get the cash back 3 times. Is everyone else aware of this? I always thought it was a total of $250.
    Thanks,

That Young card is amazing! Nice pick up. I bought a really nice '82 Topps Traded set with a fantastic Ripken included. It's a card I've wanted since I was a kid, but it was always just a little more than I wanted to drop for a single.
