The three 1844 half eagles

Two 1844 "P" coins. The one on the left... PCGS VF-45 The one on the right... PCGS AU-50




Notice that they both seem to have a very similar strike and they both have the same die rotation. They appear to be related!

I thought it might be interesting to show two 'identical mintage' coins side by side.


And I just had to shoot another picture of this one... PCGS AU-53

The 2 reverses of the 1844-P's with the same degree of rotation make the Eagles look like they are doing a synchronized dance!
