    It is a common happening.

    The first question was academic:

    "If I asked you to marry me, would you say 'yes'?'

    //////////

    The only way to guard against these guys is to throw the
    OBO sticker up BEFORE you respond to the first email.

    Then, the email response should be:

    "Please make your offer through the OBO-box in the listing. Thank You."

    I seem to get more than my fair share of guys like this. I've had a guy beating down my door asking me to sell him a card for $130, I finally relent, and now he's AWOL. Who can figure? Hopefully he just had a big night at the Vu and needs to let the debit card cool off before he fires it up again.

    so now.. the guy offers the $160
    and my system accepts it..
    then emails me and says.. he bought the wrong one...
    he wanted a 62 topps torre rookie... not the post ( keep in mind that I do not have a 62 topps )
    so he asked if he could give me $20 to get positive feedback

    You should have said yes and see if he went down to $120.
