I have a dozen coins to cross over - need advice.

I have never sent coins to a TPG. I have several coins the I would like to move over from NGC and one from PCS and I also have
some PCGS coins that just need a new holder and I don't want to regrade those- just a new holder.
should I take them to a PCGS dealer and have him/her send them in, or can I go to the Long Beach Coin Show and have them done while I wait. Do I need to be some kind of "member"' or can I just get a submission form from the web and fill it out and send in ? Do I take the coins out of the NGC holder first or will PCGS do that ?
Hows it all work anyway?

To cross to PCGS you must be a member or submit to a dealer.
Never take the coins out of the current holder, unless you are sure it will cross at the minimum(current) or higher.
PCGS will only remove the coin from the current holder if it meets your min graded accepted.
Hope that helps.

That is about $25 a coin.
You need to be a member to drop them off or have them graded at shows.
To crack them out before sending them to pcgs is up to you. Plus side is no chance of bias. Downside is they might might get a bodybag or grade lower than you like.
How much does it cost to be a member? Or should I watch for a special?
join the collectors club, or use a PCGS dealer, but that's not a bad thing!
