As far as b, I have noticed that any thread I have ever started quickly gets moved a few pages back so I have learned not to check them at all after a day or so...

I am also one of those freaks who like to hear about the latest ebay scam.
Only difference is I set my preferences to show 100 topics per page so for most I guess it's the same as searching 5 pages. Just takes a lot less time.
