National attendees and/or Chicago experts, how far is Midway from the convention?

I may be flying into Chi-town after all and am planning a long layover there. Should I take a cab?

    Ron,

Depending on traffic your looking at 27 miles and around 45 minutes. That could be a very expensive cab ride.

Ron, if you fly into midway look into taking the el system around. I believe midway is the orange line; take that into downtown, hop on the blue line, and you can take it to the rosemont stop (one stop shy of ohare.) From there it's walkable to the rosemont convention center, about 10-15 minutes walking.

Relatively easy to get around on the el lines (airport and cta workers can direct you) and it's a lot cheaper -- $2.00 for a ride. HTH!

It's always under construction, but mostly on the weekend/certain hours. As well, even if it is, they guide you to free shuttle buses for your required stop. Shouldn't affect getting to the national.
