High hopes.....

Looking through an old-time collection yesterday where everything was in 2-1/2x6 manila envelopes. Generally nothing good, till I pick up an envelope that reads:
"USA 1796 HALF DOLLAR/ PAGE #24/ PLATE #8/ NEW HUB COIN BOOK/ 30TH EDITION"
Wow! I thought! This could be the big one!
Rolled it out of the envelope and it was a 1796 large cent totally beat to death so that you could not read the denomination, but with a readable date.
Sigh!
