Did however get one so unusual that it stuck out in my mind.
$10 1934 Series A
You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
And another thing is that my gf who works at Chase bank recieved $14 worth of 1964 and a few 1967 half dollars. But she had to share half with her co workers. Sucks huh?! LOL.
The first was a choice gem Utah (D) quarter.
Remarkably I also got a nice '73-D quarter that looked like it was fresh out of a mint set. It's pretty gemmy even by mint set standards but has a tiny bit of corrosion right in front of Washington's face which probably caused the owner to spend it. Of course it still fits in my "from circulation" set since there's no way to be certain that it's a mint set coin. It's a big improvement over my current example and the first addition to the set in some time.
I also got an '87-D that's a superslider. It's no mint set coin and was struck by heavily eroded dies by the standard for this date. It's no variety or anything so will probably be returned to circulation.
Finally there's a '69-D in AU-58 except for a lightly damaged reverse. It doesn't appear to be a mint set coin but is fairly nice anyway. The damage is like one would expect if it were stepped on while it was lying on concrete.
I've been finding a surprising number of high grade clad quarters recently. It looks like collector activity rather than old coins coming out of storage. Of course the scarcities aren't represented but there are some really neat old clads getting spent.
That got me started again. While taking some business deposits to the bank today I bought four rolls of halves, nothing. But I haven't been through the $25 box of cents yet, lol.

<< <i>I got a AU/BU Missouri quarter that is apparently missing the copper layer. It has a silver looking edge (it is clearly clad though, not silver). >>
It's most likely plated - either silver or platinum. One of those novelty sets that HSN sells...
