Would you say the seller misrepresented this coin?

Seller's description and pics. Sold for $29.

.................

Very Nice 1840-O Liberty Seated Dime. No Drapery Type. The obverse has lots of gown detail, and about half of LIBERTY on the shield. The reverse has the mint mark bold, and lots of detail in the wreath.

........

Any comments about the rim area at about 4 o'clock on the obv?

    IMO

If those scans are from the auction, the seller did not need to mention the problem even though it would have been nice for him to do so. It shows clearly in the scan.

If it was sold without scans and by description only. Seller should have added it to description.

If you are thinking of return. Is it worth the hassle of returning a $29 coin?

  • The picture shows its a problem coins so I don't think it was misrepresented but again....it's always nice to acurately descibe the defects. image

Looks like a scuff mark on the rim. What do you think it is?

If those are the pictures that were used in the auction then I would say no. I would be able to make a decision with out a description.

  • An honest description, with very good photos to back it up. All issues are fully visible.

It looks like a small gouge or ding to me. You can clearly see depth in that area in the image. I did not bid on the coin for myself and never had it in hand.
