    I do not know much German, but to me it looks like a "Hamburg State Lottery" ticket.

    Yeah, it looks like it says "lottery" all over it.

    It also looks like the mice claimed a share of the proceeds.

    Interesting piece.

    Hey, call the state of Hamburg and tell 'em you're Nicolas Jacobi and you want your money. Just think of what the interest on it would be after 101 years!

    (Be sure to tell 'em you bought the ticket when you were very, very young, and use a wheezy voice. When they ask why you're speaking English, tell 'em that at your advanced age, after living in America all these years, you've forgotten how to speak your mother tongue).
