You said Kontos would have been much funnier.

    Ugh. That hurts.

Well, at least they have a decent young player in McClouth. Maybe he'll be around for another year or two before he's traded to a team that might make the playoffs.

Won't matter. Angels are still the best team in baseball by a mile.

The best team does not always win the WS.

The best team in October usually wins the World Series.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!
  • "The best team does not always win the WS"

aint that the truth.... 2006 Cardinals, 2003 Marlings won the series but were far from the best team. The list is endless.
  • I always said there is a lot of luck in baseball....

when you figure the worst team usually wins 4 out of 10* games and the best team usually wins 6 out of 10 games, there REALLY ain't a whole lot of difference...and when there is, they usually blame it on the managers....

    *padres don't count this year...

As a Yankees fan, I usually get annoyed when they trade away their young prospects, but this trade makes sense. BIGTIME!

Nady fills a void that Sexton, Duncan, and Bettimit couldn't and that's to provide some offense from the right side (Sexton may against lefties, but he can't hit righties). Marte fills the hole that Traber failed at!

Tabata is the big prospect here, but at 20 years old, he's already demonstrated that he's going to be a head case. He's underproduced at AA Trenton and has caused several issues including a bench clearing brawl.

I think the Yanks pulled off a great deal, especially considering how much the Pirates were asking for teams looking at just Nady and just Marte! I'm sure there are a few teams grumbling right now!

Let the McCutcheon watch begin in Pittsburgh!

Good news, in the NYC papers, it was starting to look like they'd soon be signing that pumpkinhead Bonds...

When I read the title I thought the Indians had somehow found a way to include Andy Marte in a three team deal.
Sigh he is still an Indian.

    That still looks very likely.

  • Hank Steinbrenner wants Bonds in a Yankees uniform.. So as long as he is interested it is very likely it may happen.

If Yankees sign Bonds, I wont watch baseball for the remaining of the season.
  • Sorry I dont believe that ! so keep watching because the Yanks are the best team in the american league right now, along with the Brew crew in the national league

  • I never understood why when the Padres had him they just used him part time. He was clutch, and if we had him still, he would be our best outfielder, but that ain't saying much.

I just watched the Indianapolis Indians play today and saw Daniel Mccutchen pitch. He was one of the players included in the deal. He is the Mccutchen that will be in the majors before Andrew. The other Mccutchen k'd in key situations and missed the cutoff man 2 times to allow runs to score. He loffed on a ground ball that he could have turned into a hit because of a defensive baubble. I don't think he will be up anytime before the roster expansion. Daniel just got off a plane and pitched. Gave up 3 runs in the first 2 innins but 1 over the last 4. Hit 95 on the gun so he looks better than half the starters in the bigs right now.

Short term I am sure he will go up some but Nady is no spring chicken and isn't really investment grade. He also has had a history of getting hurt so lets see if he can stay healthy for an entire season.
