"government is not reason, it is not eloquence-it is a force! like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master; never for a moment should it be left to irresponsible action." George Washington
At least it was firm. I created a set in a new Dansco of Sacs for my wife's birthday, bought individual P & D sets. I got the 2004 from a seller named spazio(or other?) and he made a pocket of shipping tape, paper and invoice with an open end. When I opened the invoice they fell to my tiled floor. I emailed him to b***h and insist on a refund, he ignored me and he is a power seller no less. Go figure.
Stefanie - if you search ATS you should find a thread on these tokens. I think Bill posted a extensive writeup on different types of Harrison tokens in the issue order.

Eh, it happens. Better masking tape than duct tape or something else, as previously mentioned. Just give 'em the acetone treatment.
Cool holeys, BTW.
I never neg or scold such sellers via feedback, as they're usually just innocent folk who don't know better. I usually just send a polite email suggestion not to do that in the future, lest they annoy some other less-forgiving buyer. Usually I get a contrite response thanking me for the advice and promising to sin no more.
I'd rather have a taper than somebody who just plops 'em in there loose to rattle around and work their way out of a torn corner of an envelope. I've had one or two of those over the years, but fortunately such idiocy is rare.
I got bank notes with prices written in pencil on them. A very nice seller in Chile provided them to me but for some reason declined to accept them back.
This happened to me 3 years ago as I got a NGC non bar code soap bar holder that the seller duct taped to a sheet of styrofoam and wrapped with craft paper. The duct tape removed with TLC completely removed NGC's seal on the back of the holder!
To Err Is Human.... To Collect Err's Is Just Too Much Darn Tootin Fun!
Cute token. How I hate when people do that to coins. There was an auction company, mid-america who wrapped a grouping of proof franklin halves that I won in one of their auctions, enclosed in pvc flips, VERY tightly in rubber bands.

I just got a 15 dollar coin taped to a piece of paper and stuck in a regular envelope with a 41 cent stamp. He charged 2.69 Shipping. Gave him a + for the coin but feedback included the brief lecture. He's a "coinshop", to boot.
We're all born MS70. I'm about a Fine 15 right now.

According to the 4th edition The first one is HT814 R-4 but there is differences on the obverse and reverse.
Like the buttons and bushes?
The second one looks like HT820 R- ? but the reverse bushes on the right are different.

<< <i>Just masking tape. Could have been far worse. Heck of a thing to happen to such a cool token!
Are these 'election' tokens. They look like campaign material! >>
I'm not sure if this helps but, Rulau has them listed under "Hard Times-Satirical" tokens .
I think that they are a type of campaign tokens.

<< <i>okay I have Hake's Book 1789-1916 and I am seeing similar tokens, but not these two. Hake's book is not complete >>
That's what I saw in Rulau's book, similar but not the same.

That's funny, but it's not.
