I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then question the manner in which I provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think you are entitled to!

I don't know, but it looks like a 67 at best.

I think that 67 would be a streach with all the finger prints on it.

65, shot at 66. Dip it or give it an acetone bath to get rid of the fingerprints before they turn brown...

I certainly agree that it is a stretch as a 67. I don't grade Ike's and don't seem to know how to grade the series at all.
In the past I've seen coins that IMO should be 62's or 63's (a bit of chatter and such) that made it into 64's.

This example seems A LOT cleaner with the surfaces w/ the obvious fingerprint (although light), and only a couple noticable marks on the obverse.

I think you can find a much more appealing coin with that particular date.

The reverse almost looks like it was struck twice in spots, but it's probably just the reflections I'm seeing. The eagles wings and the "ON" in one, specifically.

Anyway, as to a grade, I am a novice when it comes to Ikes, but I did just send in a really nice proof that came back 68. So I'll venture a guess of MS65.

That's pretty flashy, but I'd have to limit it to 65 due to fingerprints.

  • I think 67 is reasonable.

Very late die state, prints on Obv and reverse, milk spots on obv, some kind of haze (pvc?) on Ike neck?
Not sure acetone can "save" this one.
For a 72-S that can come much nicer..........I'm going NGC MS64.image

MS66 due to the hits at K9 and K3 on the obverse. Finger prints will not affect grade at this level.

Now, is this my imagination or does that coin look a bit cameo'ed on the obverse.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
