What to do about 1954 Bowman?

I am in the process of finishing the 1954 Topps set with commons in raw and stars PSA graded(I am about 90% done). The local card shop guy( now a flea market guy) had a binder of 1954 Bowman with about 165 different cards in it. He wanted $200 for it and I kinda balked around, then he said he'd take $100 for it. So naturally being the vintage addict that I am, I bought them. Now I can't decide if I want to complete the set or sell them to help ease the pain of the Aaron and Banks rookies that I need for the 1954 Topps set. I would say that the average condition of the 1954 Bowman is between PSA 5 and PSA 7 (Maybe even PRO 10)

Is there any other members out there collecting the 1954 Bowman set?

  • PM turned on.

Yankeeno7 - I understand your cause for alert, but I am not a phoney. I am a member of PSA (you can check out my FB sets that I am working on 1957 & 1958 Topps under Kansascardboard) I also deal on Ebay quite often. Age wise I am young(23) but I have been collecting for 15+ years and this is my passion.

Nothing personal, vintage, but this board has been burnt a few times.

Having said that, I hope you are legit and if so, best of luck.

If there's a Mantle and/or Willams in PSA 5 or better, Seller doesn't realize what he has...
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Vintage, Stown expressed my exact sentiments. Hope you are honest and become a good board member.
  • The Mantle and Williams were long gone. It is mainly commons and minor-stars.
  • When I started this thread I didn't mean for it to sound like I was needing to sell them. I was just wondering what your opinions were on whether I should drop the coin and finish the 1954 Bowmans after I finish the 1954 Topps or do I move on to the 1953 Topps.

I say finish that 54 set...very undervalued. Complete it and you'll have it. Then start your 53
