Chance for a bump? 1970 Topps Baseball HOFers - and added a couple of 62's

Nicer 1970 Topps 8's - good enough for a bump? The Mays & the Bench don't have particularly good centering on the back (85/15) - which brings up the other question....Has anybody received a bump/half grade with nice front centering and weaker centering on the back?

Thanks.

I like the Mays best followed by the Ryan (possible), Seaver then Bench (doubt it)

    sweet looking cards though

  • I know the white print lines are rather common on the 1970 Topps, but the one on the Mays should keep it from getting the bump.

Maybe on the Ryan (depending on the top-right corner), the rest are probably gonna stay as is.

    BTW, nice stuff

I'll chime-in with agreement on the Mays, but the centering on the Ryan, plus the possible soft upper-right corner, sent my brain into "PSA ain't gonna bump that one" mode. Still, a beautiful, beautiful Ryan nonetheless.
Nolan Ryan & Edgar Martinez are my favorite players...

I think the mays has the best shot.. but my heart thinks the print line holds you back

I will dissent here and say that the Seaver is the only one with a shot. It doesn't have the corner issues of the other cards nor the print line of the Mays. Besides, it looks
way better than my Seaver 8.

Nice group of cards. Best bet may be the Seaver, followed by the Mays and Bench. Upper right corner hurts the Ryan. PSA does not detract for the print line on the Mays. Very common with that card. Good luck with any resubs.

I don't believe you'll have a problem with an 85/15 back. I got a 10 on a card with 85/15 on the reverse. I've seen several 8.5s with oc backs.

In my opinion, the Ryan won't bump due to corners and minor print snow and no on the Seaver due to s/s centering. I think the Mays and Bench have the best shots at bumpage.

    Good luck.

Thanks guys. How about these two - worth a shot for 7s? They are currently 6's.

I think of all the cards you've posted, the '62 Clemente is the only one deserving a bump. All the '70's have issues (Ryan - top right corner; the other three are off-center) that keep them from bumping (IMO). The '62 Aaron's corners (especially the bottom left), I think keep it from bumping.

I've gotten several 7's on 62's that looked a lot worse than both of yours. I'd crack them both out.

    Aaron no, Clemente yes.

I think the Seaver has the best shot. I don't like the chances of the Ryan, Mays or Bench. The Clemente and Aaron both have a shot at 6.5 to 7 in my opinion. I own tons of 6's and those are definitely high end.

    Nice cards!!!

That's exactly what i did this morning. Sent them in with 98 other 62's this afternoon. I just got in a very, very crisp run of woodies.

Still thinking about the 1970's though.
