If so, how did you go about it and how did it turn out?

A client of mine has business contacts in China. He told me that many people in China and other parts of Asia are doing very well economically and are interested in obtaining items from the USA that they can own and show off to their fellow citizens.

I assume that coins would be included in these items. Thinking about his comments lead me to post this thread. Have at it folks.

  • I sold a couple Lithuainan coins to someone in Lithuania in April. The value was $110 but
I could only insure it for $50. I crossed my fingers and sent it out. It took about 3 weeks
to get there but they arrived fine.

I sold some ancients on ebay, and opened those up to overseas bidders. I know one went to South America, and at least one to Europe somewhere. They arrived fine with no problems.

This might help, even though U.S. coins were not involved. Back when I was selling ancient Roman coins, I sold many of them to collectors outside the USA, both from my Web site, and from eBay. I never had a problem, even with some over $1,000. I was paid in various ways: US currency by Registered mail, bank checks, wire transfers, credit cards, and Pay Pal.

All shipments were sent by Registered mail, and none was ever lost. Some dealers warned me not to ship to Italy, but I never had a problem myself.

You need to be honest with the Customs forms, so decline orders from those who want to cheat the tax man. Credit card numbers are stolen, so if you acceot plastic directly, only ship to the cardholder's address.
Good deals with: goldman86 mkman123 Wingsrule wondercoin segoja Tccuga OKCC LindeDad and others.
