  • Good quesion, and I think this same question has been asked many times on this board. THE answer always ends up being the same, everyone scratches their heads and they all reach the same conclusion- if you want top dollar then it is ebay or nothing. I checked out Teletrade and from my research if I were to sell on Teletrade not only would I have to wait an extremely long time for my money, but I also would have to be willing to take about 15% less on average over ebay, but again this is only my opinion and from my research. I thought google was suppose to take one ebay, but i've been hearing that for over a year now and so far nothing has panned out. I would love to see an alternative to ebay, but until a site can get ebay prices it is ebay or nothing for me.

Ebay remains the best place to (on average) get the highest amount for your coins, unless you want to go through a major auction house and incur the fees.

Is there any alternative to selling coins on ebay?

Hundreds, if not thousands......but you won't make as much money. Suck it up and keep listing.

Both ecrater and gozbay offer free stores and small fees.

Traffic is light, BUT you get to keep most of the money.

EBAY is still the place for traffic; and, headaches.

There's some goofball that keeps trying to say amazon is a great alternative....but he won't give links or state what he is selling.
Think his title is victhrust or some whacko name

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    NO good for collectibles.

GOOD for new stuff and used textbooks.

  • One of these "ebay alternative" threads comes up about every 3rd day or so. And thats okay, because it gives me a chance to say that Ebay needs to be slain; Someone needs to step up and start a free ad based site (just breaking even at first), most important key is to have a user friendly and addictive interface & every user should be ID verified. This will slay ebay, and then they can transition to a for profit operation.

    Let's do it!

Frankly, I'm tired of giving away tons of money to eBay and PayPal.

I've said it before. Greed and now Stupidity will be the end of eBay!

There are people right here in this very Forum that are qualified/ trained well enough to pull it off.

I know someone REAL TALENTED that I could bring in and with some support/ followers/ listers - she
damn sure CAN do it. I've been really thinking about calling her and checking it out.

This woman is totally in another Zone!
  • If you aren't in a big hurry to sell, I'd try the BST for a week or 2 (no fees), then try CoinZip (low fees) for the same period, and if not sold, back to feeBay. No other clear choices if you want what they're worth.
Have bought and sold on BST, many references available when asked.
  • What is BST? never heard of them

There really is no viable alternative. The problem is not the lack of sellers, it is the lack of buyers...

Whenever an alternative site pops up, in my experience, sellers are are supportive by listing stuff like
crazy. Then they discover the ultimate truth that the buyers are simply not there. Therefore, it is like
a total waste of time for them...

BST is much, much better than any alternative that I have participated in. If an item is priced right, it
    will be gone, fast...

For number of buyers (the pool of potential customers), nothing beats eBay. Nothing!

    All IMHO, of course.
