Question for everyone who ordered the 250 or 500 JQA $ coins from the Mint

I think that the mint used us, although I agree with them. We did our best to find the one gem or error in our lots, but the rest we put into circulation. I've not had anyone complain about my spending them. They look at them and then put them into the far left space in their cash drawers. Hopefully they go into circulation so that they start to become accepted. It's the only way that the mint will continue to create these coins for our enjoyment. Are they easing us into doing away with the $1 dollar bill and $2 dollar bill, as our friends to the North did?

I know someone that ordered on the first day and never received the two boxes containing $500. The tracking numbers supplied by the Mint are invalided. The $500 was charged to his credit card and the Mint said they wouldn't refund the money until after a 60 day investigation so he did a charge back. Yesterday a Mint employee threated to get the FBI after him for doing it I wish them a lot of luck with no proof of delivery.

How do you figure?
The mint took a loss to send those to all that ordered.
Even if they were re-rolled dollars, there is no loss to the buyer.

They did use you. They said that from the onset. They wanted these to be put in circulation. They stated they would be wrapped just like the ones to the banks. That they would be from the same batch as those for circulation.
Cost was only that of face value...unless you carry a balance on that credit card.

Seems totally fair and aboveboard to me

They were no longer available when I looked at the mint. Saw a little bank office in the grocery store, and bought two rolls. JQA P-mint, just like those pictured above.

I agree, above board, the mint used collectors to put these in circulation, and most collectors were happy to do it.

I don't think N.F. String & Son actually does the wrapping, they just manufacture the paper wrappers.

Considering the questionaire I had to fill out to order, the mint must have been comtemplating a massive advertising campain to get these out. Two choices were Hispanic magazine - English language and Hispanic magazine - Spanish language. There were many other choices.

It turns out all were unnecesssary.
