Anyone ever lost a package via USPS?
Buyer wins an auction on June 29th, and pays immediately by paypal.
Single card-$95. Insurance optional, but declined.
Sent card 1st class with delivery confirmation in sealed envelope on July 2nd.
Now, 2 plus weeks, and no card. Buyer upset. USPS.com shows "processed" in my home town, but nothing more.
Anything else I can do but run a trace and hopefully it will show up?
Paid the USPS buy Visa, does that insure me for loss, or am I out of luck.
Sent over 200 packages this way without problems, always get D.C., but only insure if over $100.
Sure wish I took it and ate the expense on this one?

Sorry to say out of luck unless it shows up, but don't despair had one package take 4 weeks to show up, so there is still hope, wish you the best of luck.
If not, PayPal will refund the buyer.
If you are at your PO, ask the manager to help find the thing.

I think your self-insure policy is good; mine is similar. But, you
might consider ONLY going with $50 insurance on some of the
expensive stuff AND $50 on stuff that is close to $100. (I often
only go $50 whether the items is $95 or $200.)
The INS stickers seem to help guide the packages in the right direction.
