I had to focus half way between the field and the number to get this mostly in focus.

Narrowing the answer: A 9 on a lincoln cent that has a 9 somewhere in the date.

Maybe someone here can recognize the die variety.

I was curious about the 9 doubling or over date, this is the 9 from the 1952-P.

BTW I just watched that while painting the living room. It actually followed the book pretty good.

Yeah, I noticed it is on again. That is one LONG movie adaptation of a book........
Kind of a good movie though...though, I would have likely killed that guy as soon as he started acting stupid.

Was wondering if anyone would catch the reference. Leave it to B C K image

about the only significant thing the aperture does at high mag is make the image sharper or fuzzier. If you are in the lens' sweet spot (somewhere from f5-f10) the image will be shaprest, otherwise it will fuzzify. You won't get much depth of field to speak of at any aperture setting.

I thought I had it around F4 but it was indeed at 2.8. F4 would have made the detail much sharper.

Anything much above F4 starts to get a lot of vignetting with each subsequent F stop.
