Ebay category-Everything Else-cross promotion

Can you do cross promotion for your Ebay items in the Everything Else category. Specifically, I am trying to sell some Playboy trading cards, but seems like my default cross promotion is not working in this category.
Running an Ebay store sure takes a lot more time than a person would think!

    "Playboy" is a bot-word.

Depending on the year model of the cards, they may have to go
into "Mature Audiences." I do NOT think so; just saying "maybe."

The concept that multiple categories are going to help much is
looking outdated, to me. The action is in the key-words, NOT in
    the categories.

terapeak.com has some good free stuff on the subject.

Buying extra cats makes 100% more listing-money for EBAY, but
only hikes the STR by a little-tiny percentage.

If you google the BM patents, you can become an expert on how to hit page-one,
    with about 1/2-day of reading.

Cross-Promotion gets adjusted by you. "Manage Store" button. (Not sure if that was your question.)
If you list in everything-else, make an "other" cat in your store and tag the item "other" PLUS
whatever you want to CP with.

Learning this is ALOT more important than using multiple cats.

I setup a separate store category for the listings, since they are from the 2000's and feature nudity. Since I cannot have any mention of paypal for adult/mature items, I had to do this anyways.

Not sure I am concerned about multiple categories, as much as a cross promotion of the items, ie they click on one playboy card and see the others for sale.

Doesn't the cross promotion for any store category work the same for adult stuff?? Maybe I will try the "other" category to see if that matters. Isn't FeeBay a pain sometimes!

Thanks for the research info, I will use it for the other sportscards listings.

I checked out several other auctions in the Mature Trading Cards category, and NO one has any cross promotion going on. Not even the powersellers, so I figured it's not allowed.

"...concerned about ........... cross promotion of the items, ie they click on one playboy card and see the others for sale. "

That should work if ALL of the individual cards are tagged "other" in the top SYIF box.

IF more than ONE box is filled-in - ie "other" PLUS "cards" - the rotation wll be
slow because you have so many items in "cards." You solve this by ONLY using
"other" for the Playboy cards. (If you have 10 Playboy cards AND 300 "cards,"
it could take forever for the PBs to rotate through the mix. They are likely being
seen by the index, but just not displaying when you "test.")

Choose "other" ONLY and the PBs will CP with themselves ONLY.
