Do the set registry awards need to be expanded?

I have been thinking about this subject for a couple of weeks now and thought I'd throw it out for debate. When I started my first set on the registry in 2004, I think there was about 13000-14000 sets registered total. We're now approaching the 40,000 set mark and I swear I see the number growing every day.
I think PSA needs to break down the awards for "Best Player, Topps, and maybe Overall Speciality sets" into Best Vintage and Modern Player sets and Best Vintage and Modern Team sets in each of the 4 sports. This I believe, would encourage more collectors to become active in the registry and would eliminate the disparity between the super collectors and the specialist collectors.
With the team and player sets constantly growing and the huge backlog of potential sets not even activated yet, I think this would be great step forward to follow the half-point grade and new web site upgrades.

Any team on any given Sunday, can beat any other team...unless they were playing the Miami Dolphins in 1972.

<< <i>You know Poppa, I thought the same thing, but I didn't get a single hit on this sub. so I brought it over here. It doesn't seem like anybody reads the Set Registry board except those talking on their set threads. >>
That's really strange, but you're probably right.
To answer your post, I agree with many of your suggestions; have you sent these ideas to Jaye?
Here's her info in case you care to.
