OT..........but I could use some opinions

I am watching the following on a local auction. It consists of 29 of these medals in a leather folder of some type.
Each medal is 24 carat gold plated bronze, 50MM

edited to make the gold plating correct

Up date

I won the auction. 29 Franklin Mint medals..........50mm bronze, 24 carat gold plated in a leather album--------------

The auction price works out to a little more than 2 dollars a medal. The shipping cost must be added...will probably be less than 20 bucks.

There are some Franklin mint products that feature Greats Art works, simular to those, but are Gold on Silver. IMHO a better investment for a better product. BTW gold only goes to 24k I believe.image

image your correct of course bozimage

Just shows I can't type very well.

I might be able to pick this set up very very cheap. It depends if a specialist collector see it on the auction. Right now here in Norway is the "holiday" time and most people are not home watching auctions.

ps: I will go edit my whoopsie typing

An interesting group of medalic art! I don't know what I would do with them but I wouldn't mind having them... Best of luck on your bidding!

I have a 70 oz Silver Franklin Mint set "The Genius of Michelangelo", and a Gold plated Silver "100 Greatest Masterpiece" set. If you want a set that is still in the original holders. The ones he is selling are from the 'Masterpieces" collection. They originally sold for $69 each when issued and weight was 2 oz each.

If you want to get a second mortgage, I will part with one of the setsimage

ps shipping to Norway may cost a tad more for the weight.image

    LOL.........Good try Bozimage

If i win the set at a reasonable price, I will probably keep a few and sell the others as single items. Right now the set is at approx. $10 but still has until 29 July to run. With this local auction I can not ever predict what may happen. It may go cheap or a couple of people may get in a bidding war. I will wait and see before I offer a bid.
