Poppage, 1985 Nike Michael Jordan.... now with SCANS

I won a lot of 4 1985 Nike sets (3 sealed, 1 opened) last month. AFTER I won, I discovered that this set is frequently counterfeited, so I got a little worried. So, I did some home work, asked some questions, and was reasonabliy confident that I didn't get taken. I sent the 2 best Jordans, and:

Of the cards that I had graded, the PSA 9 (I suspect) was from the already-opened set, and the PSA 8 was from one of the sets I opened. Under close inspection using a 10x loupe, all 4 Jordans were legit.
The Tin set was issued in the 90s by Upper Deck.

<< <i>Maybe Im thinking of another set, but wasnt this the set that they didnt destroy the printing plates on? Later on, along with ShopatHome, they resold the newly printed cards using the same old plates, making them not really detectable from the original prints. >>
Sounds like you're thinking about Star basketball. I've never heard of that with the Nike set.

<< <i>Those look nice, I just bid on a whim on one the other day that was listed on ebay under "Jordon", got it for $3.24 but I have no way to know from the scan if its real or not. I figured what the heck and took a shot.

Yes, you can tell if they are legit by the scan. Look at where the upper part of the red square on the backboard is positioned in relation to the upper edge of the card. Also look to see how much of the skyline you can see on the bottom edge. The reprints are cropped (less skyline and the red square is closer to the edge).
Most of the ones on ebay are reprints. Most of the packs on ebay are reprints.
