Nice double strike. That was off eBay a week or to ago, yes? If not, I remember watching one that looked very similar.
Yes, that looks fine as an original 1876-era strike. The important part is the detail in the table that that sundial is resting on. As in, "there is some". The Bashlow restrikes from the 1960s have the table pretty much completely polished out. I see a full horizontal line at the top right of the sundial, and I think I see some detail to the left as well. That's good.
The double strike is icing on the cake. I've seen lots of 1800s-era medals with double strikes. I don't think I've seen any of the Bashlow strikes with them.
