There has GOT to be a faster way to scan.....

I just timed how long it takes me to scan a single card and it took 40 seconds.
from the time i put it in, it does a preview scan then i have to make a box around the card and click accept and it rescans it.

Is there a machine where i can just put a card in the scanner, click 1 button and it takes a photoscan if thats even a word and just instantly creates the image? Or are there scanners that work VERY fast and can do it in 10 seconds or so?

Please help.
If you provide an actual link to a scanner and i buy it and it works great you will see a $10 gift in your paypal acct.

THANKS!!!!

Just have your collection manager do it.

Can't you turn off the preview and just set the window to the size you want to scan? I can't imagine you'd have to do a preview every time. There may be an autocrop feature too. Poke around the settings or post what type of scanner and software you have and somebody here might have it figured out.

I make a box around 1 PSA card in the upper corner of the scanner, then just keep putting cards in that corner location since the parameters of the size of the image to be scanned are the sae every time, and set already. No preview every time.

There was a posting a while back here wherein the OP had a special scanner/software package that was designed for cards in special card savers - lightning fast including autofeed and saving them as jpg's. Around $500 (?).

I just searched under scanner, scanning, fast - and couldn't find it. maybe somebody else remembers?

  • At least you have something that works. My scanner is down and now for some reason my digital camera won't turn on. I mean, it turns on for like 1 sec and then *poof, off again. I changed the batteries but that doesn't seem to be doing anything. I've had it for 2 years now and I didn't buy the warrenty at Best Buy. Guess I'll have to hold out till Christmas to get a new one. I'll have to stay after work now to scan cards. Sucko!!!!!

I don't know if you can do this with all scanning software, but I...
    1) Put a window around the first card
    2) Copy the window to all of the other cards
    3) Select the tab at the upper left that says "All"
    4) Hit scan, and then it scans each card to its own file.

I remember that Mike. He fed them in and it scanned in seconds. I'll look for it too.
