Conder token's big brother

Yorkshire 63 is a popular token with a couple of neat architectural designs - Minster Cathedral on the obverse and
Clifford's Tower on the reverse. The same basic design is incorporated in British Historical Medal #418 but
the larger (45mm) medal permitted a more detailed treatment by engraver T. Wyon Jr. The medals were issued in wooden
screwtop boxes.

Barber, Cattle and North mentioned in the article just happens to be the outfit that produced a commemorative medal for the event.

Why thank you

This is a the Roman Emperor Constantine, he was declared emperor in York.
There is indeed a lot of history to the city. That wasn't the only time the minster was set on fire either. In 1984 it was struck by lightning causing a fire which led to a considerable amount of damage.
Thanks for sharing the other York medals. More stuff for me to look into!
