1960 French 1 Franc found on the ground.

I was out jogging and found a coin. At first, i thought it was going to be a U.S. state quarter, but when i picked it up, it turn out to be a french 1 franc coin in AU condition !!

Do these coins contain any silver or are they 100% nickle?

The coin looks like this :

Circulating 1 franc coins weren't made of silver after WWI.

This one is indeed made of pure nickel.

for nickel coins, you can hold it near a magnet, if there's an attraction, you can rule out some metals like pure silver

Very cool find! My dad found a 1964 Franc sometime in the mid 1990s, and brought it home for me.

In the past few years I have gotten a couple of French Francs in circulation. Now I get a lot of €.02 coins instead, mostly German or French.
