This stuff was discussed on a thread I posted a few days ago. Seller has numerous eBay id's. Uses the other id's to buy wrappers, boxes and crappy commons. I will let you decide if it is legit.
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

Considering that some of the posters on these boards have parents that hadn't even reached puberty in the '70s suggests that even '89 UD might be "vintage" to them...

Seeing the 1979 Topps hockey box takes me back at least 5 years or so when they got a couple of guys I know of with bogus boxes on private deals. I understand that PSA has caught some of their recent resealed packs on the secondary market so it should be interesting to see if their work has improved to the point where a bunch of flipped graded packs are soon to hit the market. Not sure GAI will be able to screen them out unfortunately.

eBay clearly doesn't understand how bad those types of sellers are. It amazes me how hard eBay is cracking down on what they call counterfeited items, but they still let this problem go on with wax packs and such.
For example, My wife bought a Coach wallet a few months ago at a Coach outlet store and still has the receipt, but now she wants to sell it. We listed it on eBay and guaranteed it authentic with receipt and ebay pulled our auction. She sent a letter to ebay and asked why it was pulled and mentioned we have a store bought receipt. Here is the lovely letter we got back in our email the other day from ebay. (Can't ebay come up with some guidelines for card wax pack and boxes like their counterfeit items?)

I know many people don't consider anything vintage after the war, but most people consider anything prior to 1980 as vintage.
"Enduring appeal and classic" seems that what is vintage to one, may not be vintage to another. adj. Characterized by excellence, maturity, and enduring appeal; classic.
You may be happier on the net54 boards if you haven't already tried them?
Question to Beezer12--you mention that Psa recently caught some bad paks that were submitted to them. Could you elaborate on what years, types of paks these "bad" paks were. As a collector of graded vintage paks its always good to have this current information. And you are right; I'm sure they will next be sent to Gai and who knows what they will conclude....
"You tell 'em I'm coming...and hell's coming with me"--Wyatt Earp
Vintage has no time constraint, unless of course you are on the net54 site(vintage is defined as pre-WWII for their purpose). For clarity, I consider vintage to be pre 1980's, you can draw your own line. The net54 crowd will on one hand belittle you for thinking 50's-60's material is of "value"and on the other hand scold JimC and BruceD. for being pompous and arrogant because they only deal in high dollar material. That being said, they are top-notch on knowledge and very generous to those they agree with and most likely very solid individuals who don't want to deal with most people outside their circle.
