Counterstamped SOL

Has anyone ever seen anything like this. Would it be worth sending in to have graded/put in a case.

Its a 1893 Sol with a 1894 Guatemala 1/2 real stamped on it.

Chris

Well I did find it in Krause KM#224 after some research.

Yep. I have several. In high grade they can go for fairly big bucks. Krause seems to be a bit out of touch on pricing, especially when you consider that they only price these through XF; no columns for UNC or BU.

    Neat pieces.

I bought one fairly inexpensively off a dealer bidboard, so I don't think they're that rare. Cool, yes. Rare, no.

It may not be worth it to have it slabbed, but put it in a nice display case if you like looking at it.
