1990 Topps TV

I am continuing to add to my Cardinals team set collection by trying to find Topps inserts and oddball sets. Just this week, I have started researching 1990 and newer. I have run across this 1990 Topps TV set. Does anybody have any info on this (I don't have my Standard Catalog with me)?

Why is it so high. There are 66 cards in the Cardinals set, but hardly any on Ebay. I have found every single card on Beckett.com. All but about 10 cards are very reasonably priced, but a few are way to high for a common. So, I looked on teamsets4u.com and he has 2 complete sets. One is factory sealed for $110, and the other with the seal broken is $90. Are these cards that rare?

Any info would be appreciated.

Shane...I have these boxed sets...TV AllStars, Cardinals, Cubs, Mets, Red Sox, and Yankees. They were all offered initially only via a special TV offer and only in limited markets. I bought mine from Larry Frisch on the secondary market. There were 66 in each boxed set. The sets includeed the opening day rosters of the involved team, plus the manager and some coaches, and their top minor league prospects. Because of that, many cards feature the only card ever issued of some players who never made it

Looks like Beckett.com has them priced about right, except for a few commons that are priced at $3 or more.

I have the Clemens one from the Red Sox set. Pretty tough to find. Rarely every seen on eBay.
  • The Ozzie is a pain to find for a decent price... I still don't have one. Tough set.

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

I know they're priced approximately the same in the priceguide, but I've found the team sets to be much scarcer and more expensive than the All-Stars.

that makes sense.. the team sets would be much more regional that an all-star set..

There is no way that this set is worth only $20. If I buy them all on Beckett.com, I will be paying over $80 for it (including shipping). I have seen a complete set in one other place and they wanted $110 for it.
