The bullpen car..................

Does anyone remember the bullpen car that would bring relievers in ? I think they were widely used in the 70's.
Does anyone remember when they stopped using these ? Does anyone have a picture of what they used to look like ? TIA

What ever happened to Javy Lopez and his 52 home runs?

This isn't the one you are talking about, but I guess the Yankees were on a strict budget back in the early 70's.

  • Actually, that is one of the ones I'm talking about. The Yankees used to use it to bring in their relievers.
However, there are other cars that looked like baseballs.

Yeah, I was a kid then, and always wondered why the hell the relievers were too damn lazy to walk to the mound.

  • Thanks Conneticoin,

Where did you get that pic ? I thought those cars were really cool back then.

On a side note, joestalin doesn't annoy me. This board is used for intelligent conversation and trash talking.
Just take it in stride folks. Don't take it personally, it's all a bunch of bs a lot of times.

The pic is from one of the links on the website address you posted above.

My brother and I used to collect the little plastic replicas of the bullpen cars and the NFL "helmet cars".

Gas prices got too high - the teams can't afford to run them.

Great pic you posted Connecticoin. That's one of the photos I was looking for. The Dodgers need that one back for sure. And maybe the Dodgers Car can be a dh for A. Jones...lol
