Making all of auctions and store items private?

I got an e-mail from one of my customers that he is receiving spam about items that are related to items he has purchased from me.

For instance, hey i just saw you paid xxx for so and so's psa 10, i can get you that one or others for so and so.

Very annoyed. Is there any downside to make auctions private?

never gotten spam like that. keep em public, private auctions are a turn off unless your selling porn or 5 figure stuff lol.

I enjoy the fact that I can see who won an auction. I wish we could still see who is bidding.
